AERIAL MOBILE PLATFORM FOR LAST MILE GEOLOCATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF UNAUTHORISED TRANSMITTERS (ARTES 4.0 4S SPL 6B.093 / 4S.020)

Description

Objective: The objective of the activity is to design, develop and test a reduced scale RF prototype for a ground and aerial geolocating platform. The embedded hardware and search algorithms shall be developed and tested in the field. Targeted Improvements: Improve the geolocation accuracy of unauthorized transmitters from several km to below one km, shorten the process of identification to one day. Description: Detection and resolution of interference involves geolocation of unauthorized transmitters on the surface of the earth. Given the proliferation of HTS networks, this is an increasingly critical function for geostationary satellite operators who are increasingly devoting more resources on space and ground for this purpose ; however, satellite-based geolocation currently offers a degree of precision of up to tens of kilometres.This activity will design and develop, an end-to-end prototype for an aerial and ground monitoring platform, aiming to increase the accuracy of the geolocation service to less than a kilometre.The prototype shall comprise all the key elements for such system and in particular:- RF embedded platform- Embedded search algorithms- Ground station and embedded command and control link and data analysis algorithmsThe prototype shall be tested in the field as part of the activity.
