ECO – Every Child Online

16 September 2016 – Every Child Online, or ECO, a public private partnership between ESA and UK satellite network operator Avanti Communications under ESA’s ARTES partner programme, is set to bring affordable and reliable Wi-Fi hotspots to low-income users in sub-Saharan Africa.

An embedded GNSS receiver for GEO

7 March 2016 – Using GNSS for autonomous station-keeping is a significant breakthrough that should reduce operational costs and improve pointing performance of telecoms satellites. With the support of ESA, Thales Alenia Space Italia has developed a GNSS receiver module that can be hosted on a spacecraft's on-board computer.

ESA announces Indigo PPP with Intelsat

16 June 2015 – New technologies to help fully exploit the capabilities of the next generation of high-throughput telecom satellites will be developed under a public–private partnership between ESA and global satellite operator Intelsat. The Indigo project will develop new ground segment innovations that maximise the new capabilities offered by the latest Intelsat EpicNG satellites.

Electra

Electra is the first Public Private Partnership programme developed under ARTES 33. It is being undertaken in cooperation with SES, one of the word-leading telecommunications satellite operators, with a global fleet of more than fifty satellites.
