7th International Workshop on Microwave Filters

The Radio Frequency Equipment and Technology Section from the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality (TEC-EFE) of European Space Agency (ESA) in collaboration with Centre National D'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) is organising the 7th edition of the International Workshop on Microwave Filters (IWMF'18).

This workshop is a premier event to present the status and trends in the fields of microwave filters and, in general, microwave passive hardware. The workshop provides many opportunities for networking and interaction with international experts, being an exciting forum for the presentation and discussion of the most recent advances in the microwave filters and passive hardware developments.

It is our pleasure to announce that the preliminary programme for the 7th International Workshop on Microwave Filters to be held in ESA-ESTEC, The Netherlands, from 17th to 19th of April 2018, it already available through the event website.

The programme has been structured around topics such as synthesis and optimization methods for the design of microwave filters, planar and 3D filter implementation, acoustic filters, additive manufacturing, micro-fabrications and high power aspects. During the different sessions, the event will cover the most recent advances in the microwave filters and passive hardware developments.

Additionally, we have also planned some invited presentations regarding overview talks about technologies and satellite systems.

We have also the opportunity to invite our sponsors to present themselves and talk about their new products and activities.

You can already perform your registration in our website. You can benefit from a fee discount by registering by 28th February. Gala dinner is optional but the Organising Committee encourages you to join them on board the Dinner Cruise.

The workshop will also include opportunities for elevator pitches for registered participants. The usual elevator pitch rules apply: your talk must take no longer than two minutes, and only use a single slide. You can present anything – an idea, a product, or your company – as long as the content is fresh and new. Each pitching session will be scheduled immediately before the coffee breaks to maximise the networking potential. A maximum of 6 slots are available. For more information and slot booking, please contact jaione.galdeano@esa.int.

Following the IWMF'18, FIMU4SPACE 1-day Short Course will also take place in ESA/ESTEC. This course is a short version of the European Course on Microwaves (EuCoM - EuMA) MICROWAVE FILTERS AND MULTIPLEXING NETWORKS FOR SPACE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS (FIMU4SPACE) whose 3rd edition will take place in 2019.

Regarding your accommodation, hotel bookings can be dealt with by the ESTEC Travel Office. More information on the available hotels nearby can be found on the conference website.
