Held on the 12th and 13th of April at at ESA/ESTEC in Noordwijk the Netherlands, the event generated plenty of interest with the attendance of delegates and industry players from more than 15 participating ESA member states.
On the first day of this two-day event, presentations were given on ESA activities such as the Small Satellite Initiative, AlphaBus, AlphaSat and a general overview of ARTES 1, 3, 4 and 5.
In the afternoon, the presentations addressed technology developments and were split into two parallel sessions on Space Segment: Platform, and Space Segment: Payload including Ground.
The second day was dedicated to face to face meetings between industry and ESA. Staff made themselves available to answer questions and enquiries regarding ARTES 1, 3, 4 and 5 in the morning and AlphaBus, AlphaSat, and the Small Satellite Initiative in the afternoon.
Companies present at the event included: EADS Astrium from the UK, Alcatel Alenia Space and CNES from France, Swedish Space Corporation, Siemens Austria, COM Dev Ltd from Canada, OHB-System AG and DLR from Germany, Space Services from Portugal and Carlo Gavazzi Space from Italy.
