ESA together with the Henri Tudor Centre for Public Research is organising a workshop on the theme of knowledge-based economy and the digital divide.
Beginning at 14:00 on 13 October 2004, the workshop starts off with presentations from distinguished speakers covering a variety of topics related to Knowledge-Based Societies, the Digital Divide as well as case studies from Ireland and Canada.
It finishes with a round-table discussion involving representatives from the European Commission, European Union, European Parliament, Industrialists and the European Space Agency.
The workshop will be part of the much larger symposium 'On the road to Lisbon' covering issues related to ensuring that Europe remains the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world. The symposium will bring together researchers from all over Europe to discuss their experiences and present their findings. The symposium will be held in Kirchberg Luxembourg from 12 to 13 October 2004.
