Following the death of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II the UK has now entered a period of National Mourning. As a mark of respect, the UK Space Agency has postponed this event and details on a future date will be provided soon.
The UK Space Agency (UKSA) and European Space Agency (ESA) will be running a joint optical and lunar communications industry day in Bristol on 14th September 2022.
The focus of the day will be the launch of two parallel competitions. The first competition, OPS-SAT VOLT, will be to develop the next generation optical and quantum payloads, alongside developing the platform and ground segment. The second competition will be the UK’s first dedicated commercial lunar communications call.
There will also be presentations on the TRUTHS mission, with a focus on its utilisation of optical technologies and potential upcoming opportunities. Although TRUTHS is not a telecoms focused mission, this forum provides an opportunity for broader engagement with the project. The full agenda can be found below:
