Presentation of Iris programme for Satellite Communications for ATM to take place in Rome on 5 May 2008

The briefing takes place Monday, 05 May 2008 from 14:00 to 17:00 at Angelicum Largo Angelicum, 1 - 00184 Rome, Italy with the following agenda:

The Iris Programme aims to develop satellite communications for exchanges between aircraft pilots and flight control centres for the future Air Traffic Management communication infrastructure, which is being defined by the SESAR Programme. SESAR Operational Concept is proposing the implementation of two new Air/Ground communications datalinks: one terrestrial and one satellite based; Iris is ESA's dedicated programme to support the analysis and R&D concerning this satellite communications capability.
