SANTTSUR wins UK Telemedicine and Telecare Award!

The initiative, now flourishing as SANTTSUR (SAtellite Network Telematics Training for SURgeons), has 26 participating hospitals in the British Isles.

SANTTSUR aims to provide trainee surgeons with an interactive learning environment, plus high quality learning materials at the workplace, saving valuable time spent travelling to different study locations.

The synchronisation of teaching across many different sites facilitates a more efficient sharing of expertise and resources. The University of Plymouth (Postgraduate Medical School and Information & Learning Services), alongside the Royal College of Surgeons and Plymouth Enterprise Partnerships (PEP) has pioneered SANTTSUR under ARTES 3 Multimedia programme.
