  • Phase B2 of ANTARES project begins

    Phase B2 of the ESA Iris ANTARES project is now underway. This phase will advance ANTARES to the System Preliminary Design Review.

    The first draft of the ANTARES Technical specifications is now available for download. Produced by the Iris ANTARES project, this document defines a new satellite-based communication standard for air traffic management (ATM).

    Presentations given at the 2011 Iris Public event are now available for download. One hundred participants representing the satcom and airline industries, government agencies and aviation regulatory bodies attended the ESA-sponsored event.

  • Belgium joins Iris Programme

    On 20 September, Belgium became the 13th ESA Member State to support the ARTES 10 Iris Programme for Air Traffic Management. Belgium is joining Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the Czech Republic in this ESA initiative for aviation.

  • First Invitiations to Tender Posted For Iris (ARTES 10)

    The New Iris Programme for Air Traffic Management (ATM) Communications via Satellite has posted its first two Invitation To Tenders (ITT). The ITTS opened September 25 and will close November 6, 2007.
