  • UNESCO organises user day for scientific co-operation

    The event is based on the ESA supported project SpaceforScience which aims to facilitate scientific co-operation, especially in Eastern Europe. ESA will attend the two day event taking place at the UNESCO offices in Venice Italy on 7 and 8 November 2005.

  • EMPS and ASMS 2004 Presentations and Papers now online

    The 6th edition of the European Mobile & Personal Satellite Communications Workshop (EMPS 2004) took place for the first time, jointly with the 2nd Advanced Satellite Mobile Systems Conference at ESA/ESTEC, Noordwijk, the Netherlands on 20-22 September 2004.

  • New low-cost Outdoor Unit enters production

    Targeted at the emerging market for DVB-RCS, the Outdoor Units (ODU) consist of transceivers for Ku band and an antenna with both Ku and Ka band capabilities. Nera, the Norwegian company behind the ESA Telecom supported project, is maintaining a production capacity of 5000 units per month.

  • SatLabs Symposium presentations available

    Presentations from the first SatLabs DVB-RCS Symposium are now available for downloading. The symposium was held on the 8 and 9 September in Noordwijk, the Netherlands and proved to be a great success, bringing together more than 100 delegates from 23 different countries.

  • Alphabus equipment phase C/D selection

    Alphabus is the industrial programme for the development of a generic line of large platforms. Alcatel Space and EADS Astrium are cooperating to develop and market Alphabus with the objective to compete successfully on the global commercial satcom market. The objective of the phase C/D programme is to establish the Alphabus product line and to procure its first flight model.
