The objective of the activity is to analyse and apply innovative power bus control schemes for geostationary missions.

This activity will collect the requirements for interplanetary communication systems to support space exploration activities. It will take into account input from concept studies of future missions (e.g. Mars Sample Return), as well as from studies on the medium- and long-term programmatic planning such as the ?Analysis of space-based services architecture for the European space exploration?.

The goal of the project is to develop and qualify an innovative high-power Ku-band feed chain at EQM level.

The scope of the 10N Thruster Qualification activities is the new qualification of Astrium's 10N Bi-propellant thruster Type S10-21 in view of a remarkably extended number of pulses for Eurostar 3000 satellite platforms (required 921.303 pulses compared to previously qualified 497.668 pulses).

Power Supply Regulator for High-Power Communication Satellites (PSR 100V)

The project aims to study adaptive Fade Mitigation Techniques for future broadband satellite systems, in order to more efficiently compensate for fading and interference, and achieve a higher efficiency with respect to actual systems. This analysis will be performed in the frame of DVB-RCS multi-beam systems operating in Ka-band.

THAUMAS will define and start the validation of the upgrades to SwiftBroadband required to achieve Continental Safety Services as a complement to the future terrestrial ATM services being developed by the SESAR programme.

The THAUMAS initiative (Tailored and Harmonised satcom for ATM Uses, Maximising re-use of Aero SwiftBroadband) has been defined in line with the Artes 10 objectives. The resulting system, called SB-S (SwiftBroadband-Safety) will be designed for compliance with stringent services and applications defined in the frame of the SESAR programme.

The objective of this project is to design, manufacture and qualify an EM and PFM of low power conditioning unit for Telecom satellite. This PCU is targeted to address Satellite market with up to 4.2 kW power capabilities.

For almost thirty years from now, the Cospas-Sarsat worldwide Search and Rescue satellite system has been in operation, rescuing more than 26 000 distress victims. The scope in the Cospas-Sarsat Antennas project is to develop a body-worn antenna, suitable to be integrated into a life vest platform together with a commercial Cospas-Sarsat distress transmitter.
