During the visit, the three guests took part in a studio presentation in the format of a SANTTSUR transmission. Mr Dobson, currently a senior member in the labour Government, was previously Secretary of State for Health and has been a key supporter of the SANTTSUR approach to surgical training.
A promotions day took place 1 March, to which companies in the medical sector were invited. The event at the Postgraduate Education Centre, Derriford, Plymouth comprised a live TV presentation of SANTTSUR (James Campbell) from studio (David Hurrell), an ISDN2 video conferencing interactive session from Derriford to the studio (Andrew Kingsnorth and Adrian Vranch) and a presentation of the draft Strategic Plan (Dennis Clarke).
It is hoped that this event will encourage sponsorship from the healthcare industry to support the further development of the SANTTSUR Strategic Plan.
