What's in the newest CONNECT newsletter

Published four times a year, the CONNECT Newsletter carries articles on a wide range of topics which cover the most important developments and news within ESA Telecom.

This quarter's issue opens with an interview with Xavier Lobao, Chairman of the SatLabs Group. This was formed to ensure interoperability for DVB-RCS systems. Read about Mr Lobao's opinions on curent and future trends in DVB-RCS.

Also included in this issue is an article about an exciting endeavour to use ESA Telecom funded technology to scale Mount Everest. As well, a brochure has been published documenting the developments in the fascinating Artemis project; including the tense space rescue.

The Digital Divide is a continuing area of concern for government and industry alike. In this issue of CONNECT, read about what was discussed at a major conference hosted by Ireland's Southwest Regional Authority and the European Union Committee of the Regions titled 'The Role of Broadband Networks in Securing Knowledge-Based Regions'.

And finally, if you've ever wondered if Open Systems Interconnections have six layers or seven, then you will be especially interested in the announcement of a Web-based Training Tool from ESA Telecom's User Support Office.

All this can be found in the latest issue CONNECT newsletter. If you haven't received your copy in the post yet, click on the link on the right side of this page to download a PDF version. Or better yet subscribe to get next quarter's issue.
