An upgraded version of the ANTARES Technical specifications is now available for download. Produced by the Iris ANTARES project, this document defines a new satellite-based communication standard for air traffic management (ATM).
Iris, ESA´s programme for Air Traffic Management, will unveil a new interactive display demonstrating safety communications via satellite for aircraft pilots at the ATC Global Exhibition and Conference in Amsterdam. This new display was developed by the University of Salzburg.
With assistance from ESA´s Atlas extension of the ARTES 3-4 programme, a new generation of advanced functions designed by European industry will be deployed onboard the Eutelsat 8 West B satellite that will be operated by Eutelsat.
Phase B2 of the ESA Iris ANTARES project is now underway. This phase will advance ANTARES to the System Preliminary Design Review.

Registration is now open for ESA's Integrated and Telecommunications Applications department's annual ARTES Applications Workshop. The event will take place 18 and 19 April in Rome, Italy.
ESA is offering European satellite operators a unique opportunity to obtain ownership of its Artemis telecoms satellite. ESA is organising visits both to Fucino and Redu to allow the bidders to evaluate the Artemis operational environment. The visit to the Fucino facility is scheduled for 4 February.
