The objective of the project is to develop a new Central Tube for Eurostar 3000 LX using EADS CASA Espacio's advanced manufacturing technology. The concept employs the fibre placement technique to manufacture in a single piece a monolithic carbon fibre cone-cylinder shell.

This project is aimed to study several transmit active array antenna concepts, both in Ku and Ka band, with the capability to address several missions with one competitive antenna in terms of performance and cost.

In the project the SkyWAN® IDU 1070´s IP and management functions are extended. In the frame of the development of the Alphabus telecommunication platform, a system study is carried out to explore one way of increasing the spacecraft autonomy in orbit.

The purpose of this activity is to demonstrate and validate S-UMTS concepts and techniques by creating a test bed and performing experiments.

The project aims to improve the electrical architecture of the Eurostar 3000 platform by:
studying the benefit of a decentralized TM/TC architecture of the communication module;
improving the design and performance of the power distribution function; and reducing the schedule and non recurring costs of the harness definition and manufacturing.
