The objective of the project is to develop a new Central Tube for Eurostar 3000 LX using EADS CASA Espacio's advanced manufacturing technology. The concept employs the fibre placement technique to manufacture in a single piece a monolithic carbon fibre cone-cylinder shell.

This project is aimed to study several transmit active array antenna concepts, both in Ku and Ka band, with the capability to address several missions with one competitive antenna in terms of performance and cost.

The project develops extensions to the SkyNMS network management system, used to support configuration, line-up and operation of VSAT networks based on the SkyWAN® product family.

The project will develop engineering and planning tools for VSAT networks based on the SkyWAN® product family. The objectives are to support: topology and connectivity modeling, traffic modeling and carrier sizing, TDMA network planning, link budget with automatic footprint disadvantage calculation, transmission power control calculation and overall model analysis and consistency checks.

SkyWAN NG incorporates the new Turbo phi modem from the HEAT programme into the new SkyWAN IDU 7000 and updates SkyWAN with the latest available modem technology.

The objective of this project is the development and validation of a solution for the support and enhancement of IT applications, with a focus on Citrix® respectively virtualized applications via a SkyWAN network.

Cost effective high performance Radio Frequency Transmitters (RFT) for Multimedia Ground Terminals.

The objective of this project is the development of the "Media Fleet Manager", a system for the booking and managing of DVB-S / DVB-S2 transmissions for fix or mobile TV-uplink stations.

The project develops extensions to the SkyWAN® network, used to protect the network, ensure integrity of user and management data and safe operation.

kyNMS merges NMS applications used to configure and operate VSAT meshed networks with those required to manage DVB-RCS star networks.

In the project the SkyWAN® IDU 1070´s IP and management functions are extended. Of the overall four IP/LAN ports, one provides integrated PEP functionality, including VPN with IPsec, TCP acceleration and HTTP prefetching. Also, a dedicated management port is introduced, with DHCP/DNS capability. Furthermore, the management of the new functions is included in the SkyNMS® network management system.

The primary goal of the S-Band Receiver Chipset project is the development of a fully standard compliant DVB-SH Demodulator and the DT4500, a test signal generator for all configurations available in the DVB-SH standard.

The overall objective of the EUROSTAR 3000 Second Generation Solar Array development is to come to an electrically and mechanically qualified and standardized solar array design.

The scope of the 10N Thruster Qualification activities is the new qualification of Astrium's 10N Bi-propellant thruster Type S10-21 in view of a remarkably extended number of pulses for Eurostar 3000 satellite platforms (required 921.303 pulses compared to previously qualified 497.668 pulses).

The objective of the project by Eads Astrium is to develop a means of mounting a number of matrix power amplifiers (MPAs) into a common mechanical and thermal assembly with the overall aim of saving mass, losses and cost.

This project has facilitated a detailed design trade-off of two alternative antenna architectures to meet next generation missions in Ku band where coverage reconfigurability will be required. In both cases the technology limitations of analogue beamforming have been shown to be prohibitively complex and a need for high power, fast digital processing has been shown to be the only practical way to proceed.

The project objective is to develop a new type of equipment called Agile Integrated Downconverter Assembly (AIDA). This equipment will support the next generation of flexible payloads developed by EADS Astrium.

The objective of this project is to define the characteristics and requirements for a 745 litres propellant tank "EUROSTAR 3000" containing the necessary tasks concerning the delta development tasks, the manufacturing and the delta qualification of the enlarged tank.

The objectives of the project are to develop wideband SSPAs for operation at L and S-band, and to also develop a new generation of MPA architecture offering operation at S-band to allow a wider bandwidth as anticipated for future applications.

The objective of the ARTES-10 Phoenix study is to define and assess a technical communication standard based on the existing AMSS protocols for satisfying the requirements of Air Traffic Communication services. The design shall be able to support the technical and operational requirements at the least possible cost for the airspace users and can be operated by a certified CSP.

The objective of the project is the development and qualification of the Li-Ion battery product.

The project aims to study adaptive Fade Mitigation Techniques for future broadband satellite systems, in order to more efficiently compensate for fading and interference, and achieve a higher efficiency with respect to actual systems. This analysis will be performed in the frame of DVB-RCS multi-beam systems operating in Ka-band.

Astrium Services (ASV), a company dedicated to the development and promotion of satellite services, has been awarded a Phase 0 contract by ESA for a study related to the development of a European Data Relay Service (DRS) capability.

The project aims to improve the electrical architecture of the Eurostar 3000 platform by:
studying the benefit of a decentralized TM/TC architecture of the communication module;
improving the design and performance of the power distribution function; and reducing the schedule and non recurring costs of the harness definition and manufacturing.

In the frame of the development of the Alphabus telecommunication platform, a system study is carried out to explore one way of increasing the spacecraft autonomy in orbit.
